Position Overview

As an engineer, you will be a part of the System Engineering team where you work closely with Sr engineers and subcontractors to design and fabricate hardware components & control units, and install & commission new equipment. You will also be working with the product development team to provide solutions to their challenges. This position will be responsible for maintaining the testing equipment to ensure it is operating according to either manufacturer’s specifications or according to required standardized testing requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities for Mechanical Engineer I

  • Design, fabricate, assemble mechanical and control components that enable us to develop novel products.
  • Conduct testing, accurately record results via database management, perform data analysis in graphing programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within and outside QC to brainstorm improvements to our technology (hardware, software, and control system).
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in synthesizing equipment for cementitious materials manufacturing
  • Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.

Requirements  

  • Associate or greater degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Chemical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in an academic or industrial setting.
  • Experience with automation and controls
  • Experience with fabrication and cad design (3d printing objects)
  • Experience with fluid and gas management (Piping/Valves/Instrumentation)
  • Experience with thermo / heat transfer/ fluid dynamics is highly preferred
  • Ability to work full-time and in-person onsite.
  • A great team-focused attitude, and a willingness to teach and learn from others.
  • The job is performed in a hands-on work environment. The employee must have the ability to sit, stand, walk and lift 25 pounds unassisted or more than 25 pounds assisted.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction as well as with a team to complete daily tasks
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, ability to learn quickly, and the propensity to tackle new problems.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
